Having reached the participant limit, Rimi Riga Marathon is closing registration for Kids’ Day and the DPD Mile

16 May 2025

Having reached the participant limit, Rimi Riga Marathon is closing registration for Kids’ Day and the DPD Mile. Both Saturday events are extremely popular—Kids’ Day will welcome 10,000 children, while 6,000 runners will take part in the DPD Mile.

The latest Rimi Riga Marathon news will be revealed at the Grand Opening, happening at the EXPO at 12:00 PM.

The Rimi Riga Marathon Kids’ Day, taking place on May 17 – one day before the long-distance courses – on 11 November Embankment, has gained great popularity this year. This is thanks not only to the wide range of running opportunities—200m, 400m, 60m “Toyota WESS Grand Sprint,” and the “Happy Babies” courses, but also to the variety of fun activities organized right there on the embankment. To ensure every participant receives an official medal, organizers are forced to close registration earlier this year.

The second Saturday event with registration closing today is the popular DPD Mile, which will welcome not only those competing for medals in the Latvian Mile Championship, but also runners of all ages and paces ready to enjoy the 1609-meter course from the Art Museum to the Freedom Monument.

Participant limits have not yet been reached for the long-distance races on May 18 – 5.7 km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km – and registration for these courses remains open until 8:00 PM on May 17.
