Time and location
Rimi Riga Marathon Kids’ Day will take place on May 14, 2022, at the Freedom Monument from 11.00 to 16.00.

Kids’ Day start number pick up
From April 25, parents and family members will be able to pick up the start numbers at the place indicated at the time of registration: Rimi Riga Marathon EXPO on May 13, or in one of the three Rimi stores – shopping centre “Alfa”, shopping centre “Spice” or the Rimi store at 33a Pulkveža Brieža street.
Each registered participant receives a unique start number. The start numbers for the “200 m” and “400 m” participants are identical, giving the opportunity to decide on the most suitable distance for the child on the day of the event.
Kids’ Day medals
Each child receives one special finisher’s medal for participating in free Kids’ Day distances.

The running courses are divided into different age groups.
“Happy baby” track from 0 – 3 years
“200 m” from 3 to 8 years
“400 m” from 5 to 12 years
Marathon
Last minute number pick-up on race day
EXPO working hours are from 10.00 to 20.00 on both days on May 13 and May 14. However, we know that some participants might be arriving in Riga just after EXPO working hours. Therefore for international runners that are running the DPD Mile on Saturday, there will be an exceptional option to pick up the start number on May 14 at the EXPO from 8.30 – 9.45.
There is a special last-minute number pick-up service also provided for international runners on Sunday. For an extra fee of 5,- euros it is possible to order “start line bib number delivery”. The payment must be done in the registration profile and is offered exclusively only for international runners. The service must be paid by May 12, Thursday on the race week. If the service will not be paid by the above-mentioned deadline the bib numbers will not be delivered to the start area.
On Sunday 15 the participants that have selected and paid for this service will be able to receive their start numbers and their starter’s pack in the Info centre on 11 November Embankment.

Start number pick up
Receiving start numbers for 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, 6 km and DPD Mile
Participants can pick up their start numbers at the Rimi Riga Marathon EXPO on May 13-14 from 10.00 to 20.00, presenting a confirmation letter with the assigned start number and identity document.
Start numbers for teams
A team representative can apply for packing and delivery of their team numbers to an office in Latvia via DPD courier. Such service must be requested at the time of registration or separately from 15 April to 5 May 2022 at 23.59. Service fee:
- Delivery of up to 15 start numbers 25.00 + VAT, i.e. EUR 30.25.
- Delivery of 16 – 50 start numbers 50.00 + VAT, i.e. EUR 60.50
- For teams of 51 and more, start number delivery 80.00 + VAT, i.e. EUR 96.80.
DPD Mile
Time and place
The DPD Mile race will take place on May 14th. The start will be at the Freedom Monument at 10.00
Age limit
A family without age restrictions can participate in the DPD Mile race, provided that at least one adult also participates in the race.
Registration
The participation fee for the DPD Mile race is 5.00 euros for each person participating in the race if the registration is done by April 30, 2022. Register for the DPD Mile here.
Receiving start numbers
The start numbers of the DPD Mile race will be available at the Rimi Riga Marathon EXPO on May 13, 2022 from 10.00 to 20.00, presenting a confirmation letter with the assigned start number and identity document.
Medical assistance
Emergency vehicles with medical teams will be located at various locations along the courses throughout the event, and medical personnel will be located at and between all water points. If medical assistance is required in the finish area on the 11 November Embankment, seek first aid in a tent at the finish arch.
Finisher’s massage by Mēness Aptieka
Guaranteed massage after the finish in the Mēness Aptieka massage zone is available to all 42 km participants and 21 km participants from the age of 50. Check the box at the time of registration or until April 30 in your registration profile if you want to receive a massage after the finish.
Mangaļi energy points on course
Mangaļi water will be available at all points on the course, but at some points also the Science in Sport electrolyte drink and energy gels, as well as other refreshments.
Time limit
The following time limits have been set for the Rimi Riga Marathon 2022:
- Marathon – 6 hours
- Half-marathon – 3 hours
- 10 km – 2 hours
- 6 km – 1 hour 30 minutes
- DPD Mile – 30 minutes
Virtual marathon
Participants indicate their type of participation in the Rimi Riga Marathon – to participate in person or virtually – at the time of registration.
The chosen type of participation can be changed free of charge until April 30, by adding a virtual race to your profile or by sending a message to marathon@necom.lv. From May 1, 2022, it is no longer possible to change the type of participation from in-person to virtual and vice versa.
All participants will be informed about the rules of the virtual competition starting from May 2, 2022.
Results
After the event, the results of all registered virtual runners will be included in the official Rimi Riga Marathon results list with an indication that the race has been performed virtually.
Medals
Participants of the virtual Rimi Riga Marathon will receive the medal by mail. Participants who do not live in Latvia will receive the medal at the postal address indicated in the registration profile, while virtual participants living in Latvia will receive the medals at DPD Pickup points.
Results
The results are available in the Results section.
The results are summarized and places are awarded according to the time spent in the distance, from the moment of the start signal given by the chief judge to the moment of crossing the finish line.
The fixed time of the time control microchip (mika-tag attached to the participant’s number), which shows the participant’s actual time spent in the distance from the start line to the finish line, is published and summarized for the personal information of the participants only.
Bag check
Bag check will be available for the participants of the Rimi Riga Marathon in Dome Square.
Please note that the bag check service is only available with official bags and by prior arrangement. If you decide to use the bag check, please indicate this in the registration process or after registration in your registration profile. The deadline for making the selection is April 30.

Registration
Re-registration
Re-registration of the transferred participants was done on November 5, 2021. All the participants who did arrange the transfer until August 10, 2021 should have received a confirmation letter for 2022. In case of doubt write to marathon@necom.lv until April 30. After May 1 no transfer issues will be reviewed.
Personal data change
All changes to your personal data (name, surname, date of birth, team) you can make in your profile free of charge until April 15, 2022.
From April 16-30, the service will be available for an additional fee of EUR 10.00.
From May 1, 2022, no changes will be possible.

Registration transfer to a friend
If you have registered for the Rimi Riga Marathon 2022, you can transfer your participation to a friend free of charge until April 15, 2022.
From April 16-30, it is possible to transfer the participation to a friend for an additional fee of 10.00 EUR.
