On what dates will the next Rimi Riga Marathon take place?

The Rimi Riga Marathon of 2024 will take place on the third weekend of May – on the 18th and 19th of May. Save the dates!

Medical assistance

Emergency vehicles with medical teams will be located at various locations along the courses throughout the event, and medical personnel will be located at and between all water points. If medical assistance is required in the finish area on the 11 November Embankment, seek first aid in a tent at the finish arch.

Virtual marathon

Participants indicate their type of participation in the Rimi Riga Marathon – to participate in person or virtually – at the time of registration.

The chosen type of participation can be changed free of charge until April 30, by adding a virtual race to your profile or by sending a message to From May 1, 2022, it is no longer possible to change the type of participation from in-person to virtual and vice versa.

All participants will be informed about the rules of the virtual competition starting from May 2, 2022.


After the event, the results of all registered virtual runners will be included in the official Rimi Riga Marathon results list with an indication that the race has been performed virtually.


Participants of the virtual Rimi Riga Marathon will receive the medal by mail. Participants who do not live in Latvia will receive the medal at the postal address indicated in the registration profile, while virtual participants living in Latvia will receive the medals at DPD Pickup points.

The results are available in the Results section.

The results are summarized and places are awarded according to the time spent in the distance, from the moment of the start signal given by the chief judge to the moment of crossing the finish line.

The fixed time of the time control microchip (mika-tag attached to the participant’s number), which shows the participant’s actual time spent in the distance from the start line to the finish line, is published and summarized for the personal information of the participants only.

Each child receives one special finisher’s medal for participating in free Kids’ Day distances.

Age restrictions

The running courses are divided into different age groups.

  • There is no age limit for the “60m Sprint Queen and King” and “DPD Mile” distances
  • “Happy baby” track from 0 – 3 years
  • “200 m” from 3 to 8 years
  • “400 m” from 5 to 12 years

Limit on the number of participants

The tradition of Kids’ Day started in 2013 as a very small activity for parents with children. During these years, the popularity of Kids’ Day has grown significantly, and it is expected that the popularity of the live running event will only grow, so participants are encouraged to register early, as the number of participants is limited to 8000.

Virtual Running Club

What is the Virtual Running Club?

Virtual running club is your virtual running companion, which will motivate you for daily training, allow you to compete with friends or colleagues and give you the opportunity to win valuable prizes.

After signing up to the Virtual Running Club and connecting your smartwatch or sports app, all activities will automatically sync with Running Club.

In the Challenges section, you will find various running challenges, competitions and activities to give additional motivation, excitement and a sense of a job well done to your sports activities with accumulated kilometers, minutes or the displayed result.

On the other hand, each accumulated kilometer or minute will give you points, which you can exchange for Rimi Riga Marathon partner offers in the Rewards section.
