Signet Bank Relays

To make the long distances more engaging for an even wider running audience, the new season will introduce a new participation format – the Signet Bank Relay in the marathon and half marathon distances.

Registration for Signet Bank 42 km and 21 km Relay participation is possible

until April 30, 2027.

How will the Signet Bank 42 km and 21 km relays work?

Participants will have the opportunity to run the 21 km relay, which consists of two legs of 10.2 km and 10.9 km, as well as the 42 km relay, which consists of four legs of 10.5 km, 6.5 km, 12.5 km, and 12.7 km.

Signet Bank 21km Relay

2 runners • 1 exchange point

Runners of the first leg of the half marathon relay will start together with all 21 km runners. The 21 km relay exchange point will be located by Dailes Theatre, where the first-leg runner – completed the 10.2 km section – will symbolically hand over the relay baton to the second-leg runner, who will carry it for the remaining 10.9 km all the way to the Rimi Riga Marathon finish line on 11. novembra Krastmala. Both 21 km relay participants will receive 21 km distance medals.

Signet Bank 42km Relay

2–4 runners • 3 exchange points

Important: It doesn’t need to be 4 people to complete the marathon relay. You can register with 2 or 3 runners and split the distance at the control points — one runner can run multiple legs.

The 42 km relay will have three exchange points: the first baton exchange will take place in Dzegužkalns (Buļļu iela), the second by Dailes Theatre, and the third in Mežaparks on Kokneses prospekts (at the 29 km mark). The final 42 km relay runner will carry the relay baton to the finish line on 11. novembra krastmala. All 42 km relay participants will receive 42 km distance medals.

How it works

1) Start together with the main distance field.
2) Exchange the relay at the designated points.
3) Last runner finishes for the whole team.

Team size

21km Relay: exactly 2 runners.
42km Relay: 2–4 runners — you can combine legs so it doesn’t have to be 4 people.

Medals

Each participant receives the medal of the relay distance completed by the team:
21 km or 42 km.
