Medals
Regardless of the distance a runner has conquered and at what pace, satisfaction and a medal await them at the finish line as a reward for the work involved!
Initially, the Riga Marathon medals were adorned with views of Riga, but since 2019, the design of the marathon medals has been entrusted to various artists, thus giving the medal an additional artistic value. Since then, the designers of the medals have been well-known artists and designers in Latvia and worldwide: Arturs Analts, Japanese artist Junichi Kawanishi, who created the medal for the marathon’s 30th anniversary and was also the designer of the Tokyo Olympic medals, Jānis Šneiders, Kristians Brekte, and Paulis Liepa. The 2024 medals will be designed by the internationally recognized artist Germans Ermičs, who has just won the “Best surrealist furniture: Wallpaper* Designs Awards 2024” design award from “Wallpaper*” magazine.
