Registration is open for the “Inclusive Marathon” program
17 February 2026Continuing to strengthen an inclusive environment and the joy of movement, for the third year in a row, in cooperation with health partner “Mēness aptieka,” we are implementing the “Inclusive Marathon” program. It provides people with mobility and functional impairments, as well as their assistants, the opportunity to participate in the largest mass sporting event in the Baltics for a symbolic fee.
We invite both organizations from across Latvia and individual participants to apply for the “Inclusive Marathon” program. The total participant limit is 1,000 places, allocated for 500 participants with mobility and functional impairments and 500 assistants.
Registration for the “Inclusive Marathon” is available on the Rimi Riga Marathon website from February 17 to April 30 (or until the 1,000 – participant limit is reached).
The participation fee is symbolic – 3 euros – and participants may register for any distance suitable to their abilities. For the most popular distances – 6 km (5.7 km) and the “DPD Mile” (1,609 m) – a special start procedure will be provided, while in other distances participants will start together with other marathon runners.
Supporting participants with mobility impairments will continue to be one of our priorities – both through implementing the “Inclusive Marathon” program in cooperation with”‘Mēness aptieka” and by developing the charity initiative “Movement for Movement” together with the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
We believe that running is not just a sport – it is an opportunity to experience a sense of togetherness, overcome boundaries, and feel a sense of belonging. Therefore, our goal is to make the Rimi Riga Marathon increasingly accessible to everyone!

We Will Meet Again at a Group Training Session in Mežaparks This Year!
To promote understanding and safety on the course, a special group training session will also be organized in April as part of marathon preparations in Mežaparks. The goal is to introduce assistants to their partners and to educate the running community about safe and respectful coexistence on the course, including the specific requirements of pushing a wheelchair during a race. More information about the group training session will follow soon.
