It’s time to find out what money prizes await the fastest runners!

14 January 2026

The Rimi Riga Marathon 2026, taking place on 16–17 May, promises all participants not only an outstanding race experience, but also a strong prize fund across all distances. Money prizes will be awarded to podium finishers in every race – the DPD Mile (1,609 m), 6km (5.7km), 10km, Half Marathon, and Marathon.

Prize money will be equal for men and women in all distances, ensuring full gender equality.

The prize structure reflects the sporting priorities of 2026, with a strong focus on high-level, competitive performances. Special attention is given to the marathon course, as well as the internationally acclaimed 21 km half marathon and DPD Mile courses, all of which have proven their quality at world-class events.

Additional bonuses will be awarded to the fastest Latvian athletes and to runners who set new Rimi Riga Marathon course records or Latvian national records. This approach not only fuels elite-level competition but also inspires athletes to push for exceptional results. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the 2026 Rimi Riga Marathon becomes a stage for new achievements and record-breaking performances!

Record bonuses

In addition to podium prize money, bonus payments will be granted to athletes who set new Rimi Riga Marathon course records. A €1,500 bonus will be awarded for breaking the 42 km marathon course record in either the men’s (2:08:51) or women’s (2:26:18) competition.

The same principle applies to the 21 km half marathon. A €1,500 bonus will be awarded for improving the existing men’s record of 59:10 or the women’s record of 1:07:13. An increased bonus of €3,000 will be paid if the finishing time is equal to or faster than 59:00 for men or 1:06:00 for women.

For the DPD Mile, athletes who break the men’s course record of 3:56.13 or the women’s record of 4:20.98 will receive a €1,000 bonus.

In accordance with Latvian legislation, personal income tax of 25.5% will be withheld from all money prizes.
