Get ready for 6km with Elektrum Energetic training plans

21 March 2025

As the 8-week countdown to the Rimi Riga Marathon 2025 on May 17–18 begins on March 24, we invite you to follow our 6km training plans. In collaboration with Elektrum, these plans have been designed by one of Latvia’s fastest long-distance runners, Anita Siliņa!

Here’s what you have to keep in mind!

#1 Consistency

Easy training plans are recommended for beginners who are new to the running world and are preparing for first race.

The medium training plans are recommended for runners who run 1 to 1.5 hours per week and who want to prepare thoughtfully for a 6km. The focus of these training sessions is on a steady pace, rather than achieving a high result!

The advanced training plans are recommended for runners who run 2 to 2.5 hours per week and are preparing for a fast race. The advanced plans are for experienced runners who want to challenge themselves to achieve a high result and train systematically.

#2 Start on March 24th

To join the 8-week training plan, training should begin on March 24. By following regular training, it is possible to prepare for the 6km with strength and confidence, while avoiding burnout or injuries.

#3 Elektrum energetic training plans

The Elektrum Energetic training plan series includes training plans by Jeļena Prokopčuka and Anita Siliņa for the Rimi Riga Marathon 42km, 21km, 10 km, and 6 km distances. There is also an easy-intensity 10 km training plan designed for beginners.

#4 Join us in Mežaparks!

We also invite you to join the weekly Sunday Elektrum Energetic training program in Mežaparks, where you can get moving and prepare together for the Rimi Riga Marathon.

We are glad that Elektrum will take care of every runner throughout the entire running season, from the very first individual training sessions to the Mežaparks group trainings, all the way to the energetic finish at the Rimi Riga Marathon.
