Olympic Kids’ Day
The two-day program of the Rimi Riga Marathon will traditionally be opened by Kids’ Day, which once again, thanks to the support of the Latvian Olympic Committee, has become the Olympic Kids’ Day. On May 17, the Olympic Kids’ Day at the 11th November Embankment will allow even the smallest participants and families to experience the joy of movement.
Olympic Kids' Day program
The Olympic Kids’ Day will be opened at the 11th November Embankment at 10.00 with short distances.
As usual, the smallest ones will be offered an obstacle course for Happy babies, while slightly older children will be able to run in the 200 m and 400 m distances, as well as in the DPD mile (1609 m), which was especially popular for families with children last year. 60-meter distance Sprint King and Queen will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
DPD Mile event takes place on the usual route: Latvian National Museum of Art – Freedom Monument, but the rest of the Kids’ Olympic Day routes are available along the 11th November Embankment.
Limit on participant count
The tradition of the Olympic Kids’ Day began in 2013 as a very small activity for parents with children. Over the years, the popularity of Olympic Kids’ Day has grown significantly, and this year’s face-to-face running event is expected to only grow in popularity, so participants are encouraged to register early, as the number of places is limited and 8,000 young aspirants will be registered for the races.
