Kids’ Day
The two-day program of the Rimi Riga Marathon is traditionally opened by the Kids’ Day. This day allows youngsters as well as their families to enjoy the joy of movement.
Registration is currently open for all Kids’ Day distances!
Kids' Day Activities

On Kids’ Day, you’ll also be able to try your hand at — and enjoy demonstrations in — basketball, football, volleyball, boxing and other popular sports.

If a child gets lost, please go to the Info tent — we’ll help you reconnect quickly.
We recommend picking up your bib early so you can focus calmly on your start on race day.

Running distances are assigned to different age groups:
Babies course – 0 until 3 years
200m – 3 until 8 years
400m – 5 until 12 years
“Toyota WESS Grand Sprint” (60m) – no age limit
“DPD mile” (1,609 km) – no age limit

Where can Kids’ Day start numbers be collected?
Starting numbers can be collected from April 28 at Rimi store Information Centres (located right at the entrance of the Rimi store) during store opening hours at the following locations:
- Akropole Alfa shopping centre
- Spice shopping centre
- 33a Pulkveža Brieža Street
Starting numbers can be collected on May 15 and 16 (10:00–20:00) at:
- EXPO – Rimi Olympic Centre, Grostonas Street 6B.
Starting numbers for the “DPD Mile” and the “TOYOTA WESS Grand Sprint” will be equipped with a special timing chip; therefore, they can only be collected at the Rimi Riga Marathon EXPO on May 15 and 16.
Each registered participant receives a unique starting number. For the “200 m” and “400 m” races, the starting numbers are identical, allowing parents to decide on the most suitable distance for the child on the day of the event.

Why do free runs require selecting an arrival time?
Participants are required to select an arrival time so that we can manage the flow of people and ensure the runs take place smoothly and safely. This helps avoid overcrowded start areas and provides a better experience for all participants.

Can the existing start time be changed to another?
Unfortunately, this will not be possible. Participants are required to select an arrival time so that we can manage the flow of people and ensure the runs take place smoothly and safely. This helps avoid overcrowded start areas and provides a better experience for all participants.

How can I make sure my registration was successful?
Once the registration is completed, a confirmation email containing the registered participant’s details will be sent to your email address. This email serves as official confirmation that the registration has been successfully completed.

Can parents run together with their child? Does the adult need to register for the run?
Yes, parents are welcome to run together with their child to encourage and help them reach the finish line. The adult does not need to register separately.
