The registration for Kids’ Day is open

13 February 2025

Registration for Kids’ Day is now open, welcoming more than 10,000 little runners! Parents are encouraged to register on time and not miss the “Toyota WESS Grand Sprint,” which promises to be a special surprise in the Rimi Riga Marathon’s 35th anniversary year.

On May 17, kids will also have the chance to try a variety of sports, including basketball, football, volleyball, boxing, and more.

At the Rimi Riga Marathon Kids’ Day, which has a participant limit of 10,000, children are invited to run and earn their medals in the 400-meter, 200-meter, and “Happy Babies” race, which will also feature obstacle challenges and crawling. Additionally, they can take part in the special 60-meter “Toyota WESS Grand Sprint” distance.

Registration is open on the Rimi Riga Marathon website and will close once the Kid’s Day participant limit of 10,000 is reached.

We are very proud that from very little event the Kids’ Day has grown for grand family event, and we are very good example for marathons not only in Baltics, but also in Europe. The maratho big anniversary party will be opened with 10 000 little runners and we can’t wait to award all finishers with official Ivars Heinrihsons designed Rimi Riga Marathon medals!

The event will also feature a red carpet for the “Happy Babies” race, as well as time tracking and chipped bibs for participants in the “Toyota WESS Grand Sprint” distance.

Participation in the Kids’ Day 200m, 400m, and “Happy Babies” races is free, while the entry fee for the “Toyota WESS Grand Sprint” is 3 EUR.

This year, Kids’ Day participants at 11 November Embankment will also have the opportunity to try various sports, including boxing, football, basketball, jumping, volleyball, climbing, skateboarding, table tennis, and even weightlifting. They can also enjoy demonstrations from athletes and explore exhibits from the cadets, the National Guard, the State Police, the State Fire and Rescue Service, and the Emergency Medical Service.

At Kids’ Day – DPD mile with a start at Art Museum

The Rimi Riga Marathon running festival weekend will kick off with the DPD Mile (1,609 m), starting at 11:00 AM near the Latvian Academy of Arts and finishing at the Freedom Monument. The DPD Mile follows the same course as the first World Athletics Road Running Championships – where two world records were set.

Families who want to experience the World Athletics Road Running Championships course and earn Rimi Riga Marathon medals are invited to register for the DPD Mile. Please note that the current fee for the DPD Mile is 5 EUR, but it will increase after February 28, so we encourage you to register now. Registration will close once the participant limit of 6,000 is reached.
