See you in Copenhagen!
14 September 2026The Rimi Riga Marathon team is heading to the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen this week! What will we be doing in Copenhagen? First, we’ll once again be inviting runners from all over the world to come and run with us at the Rimi Riga Marathon on May 15–16, 2027!
Second, as part of the Erasmus+ programme, we’ll be taking part in an experience exchange and job shadowing with the Copenhagen team!
The World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen is especially meaningful to us, as in 2023 we hosted the very first edition of the Championships ourselves in Riga! This time, we’re heading to visit our friends in Copenhagen to soak up their experience, explore the EXPO, borrow some great ideas, take part in the World Athletics Conference, convince half the world to come and discover Riga, network, and shamelessly bring the best practices back home to the Rimi Riga Marathon!
If you’re in Copenhagen this week, come say hi at our EXPO stand – we’ll tell you more about the 2027 races in Riga and, of course, give you a little taste of Latvia! You’ll also find us out on the course – our team will be running the mile, 5K and half marathon!
P.S. We’ll be easy to spot at the EXPO – we’re coming to Copenhagen in our usual Latvian running gear: traditional folk costumes!
