Registration for the Rimi Riga Marathon 2027 is open
16 June 2026On 15 and 16 May next year, the Baltics’ most significant mass-participation sports event will bring tens of thousands of runners from Latvia and around the world to Riga, where new courses will be waiting to surprise them. To give participants the opportunity to start preparing in good time for the great running celebration in Riga, registration for next year’s race opens today, exactly eleven months before the event.
Alongside the mass-participation sports celebration, Riga will once again host world-class elite competition and top-tier results on World Athletics recognised Road Race Label courses.
Over the years, the Rimi Riga Marathon has become a calling card for Riga and Latvia, bringing together thousands of runners, families, children, marathon tourists and elite athletes from around the world in the streets of the capital. Our ambition is to continue strengthening Riga’s position on the European running map and move closer to our goal of becoming one of the top 10 most wanted running destinations in Europe. That is why next year we will also work to offer participants an increasingly exciting marathon experience, including by seeking to surprise them with new courses in the marathon, half marathon, 10 km and 5 km distances!

The new courses in the city centre will be planned taking into account the steadily growing number of participants, the desire to showcase Riga at its best, from the city centre to its many neighbourhoods, as well as respecting the reconstruction plans for Vanšu Bridge.
