Registration For 2023 Rimi Riga Marathon Is Open

5 July 2022

Registration for the Rimi Riga Marathon, which will take place for the first time on the first weekend (6th and 7th) of May, has opened almost 11 months before the event. The Rimi Riga Marathon next May is set to be the general rehearsal for the World Road Running Championships taking place in Riga next October, and opening registration early is the first step to attracting a significant number of international participants to Riga. Organisers hope to welcome a record number of runners and marathon tourists, delivering a vibrant city festival as well as world-class athletic results on the new courses created for the World Road Running Championships. Registration is currently open for the marathon, half-marathon and 10 km races, while registration for the shorter races — 5 km, DPD Mile and Kids’ Day races — will open nearer the event.

The moving of the date of the 2023 Rimi Riga Marathon to the first weekend of May is linked with the Ice Hockey World Championship taking place in Riga and Tampere on May 12 – 28. To avoid two significant city events overlapping, we have decided that the Rimi Riga Marathon will take place one week earlier than planned.

Registration

You can register for the marathon, half-marathon and 10 km here. Registration for the Kids’ Day races for children aged up to 12, the DPD Mile, the Latvian Schools Cup and the popular 5 km race will open later in the year.
