26 March 2025Continuing the tradition of inviting the most talented Latvian artists to design the Rimi Riga Marathon T-shirts and medals, this year’s official Rimi Riga Marathon Nike running T-shirts will feature artwork by Helēna Heinrihsone – flowers.
Since 2008, when the official T-shirt art and design was created by Elita Patmalniece, Helēna Heinrihsone’s artwork will be the 18th to feature the most popular running event in the Baltics and become part of our art collection.

Helēna Heinrihsone early has created her way of expression and consistently develop it by looking for different and nontraditional artistic ways in her generation and in all Latvian painting. Helēna Heinrihsone artwork’s character is simple and expressive composition. With the painting deformation in some times the grotesque in the image system is intensified. Flowers, a specially roses, are painters art identical symbols. Those the artist has featured on the T-shirt in movement.

When I started thinking about the marathon as a non-runner, I imagined the Rimi Riga Marathon as Riga’s spring. And where there is spring, there are flowers, the spring wind, and movement. That’s when I realized that everything has to be in motion. The T-shirt will move on the person wearing it, and the flowers will move along with it!
