The two-day program of the Rimi Riga Marathon will traditionally be opened by Kids’ Day, which this year, thanks to the support of the Latvian Olympic Committee, has become the Olympic Kids’ Day. On May 6, the Olympic Kids’ Day at the Freedom Monument will allow even the smallest participants and families to experience the joy of movement.

Olympic Kids' Day program

The Olympic Kids’ Day will be opened at the Freedom Monument at 10.00 with short distances.

As usual, the smallest ones will be offered an obstacle course for Happy babies, while slightly older children will be able to run in the 200 m and 400 m distances, as well as in the DPD mile (1609 m), which was especially popular for families with children last year. 60-meter distance Sprint King and Queen at the monument itself will be open from 11.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Limit on participant count

The tradition of the Olympic Kids’ Day began in 2013 as a very small activity for parents with children. Over the years, the popularity of Olympic Kids’ Day has grown significantly, and this year’s face-to-face running event is expected to only grow in popularity, so participants are encouraged to register early, as the number of places is limited and 8,000 young aspirants will be registered for the races.
