Rimi Riga Marathon 42, 21, 10 and 5 km races will take place on May 15, 2022.
The Rimi Riga Marathon course is located in the center of Riga, measured in accordance with the rules of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The track is certified by one of the most recognized measurers of the highest A-category in the world - Maurice Winterman. Maurice has a special relationship with Riga - he participated in the very first Riga Marathon in 1991, as well as measured the courses with us in Riga several times.
The length of the marathon distance is 42,195 m, the half marathon - 21,097.5 m, but the exact lengths of the “10 km” and “5 km” distances will be announced to the participants as the event approaches. We offer to get acquainted with the 2021 Rimi Riga Marathon route, although we can say in advance that in 2022 we will try to surprise you with a new course, which we will announce as we approach the event.
Special Rimi Riga Marathon medal
Every year, we create the Rimi Riga Marathon medal together with recognized Latvian or world artists. Outstanding medals have been created by Artūrs Analts (2019), Jānis Šneiders (2021) and Junichi Kawanishi, the author of the Tokyo Olympic Games medals (2020).
What not to miss at the time of registration?
First of all, put the Nike running shirt from the special collection of Rimi Riga Marathon in the basket - its design is created every year by an internationally recognized Latvian artist. Also, don't forget to donate to children with mobility disabilities as part of the charity initiative "Movement for Movement" in cooperation with the Children's Hospital Foundation.
Participation in the virtual Rimi Riga Marathon
If the epidemiological restrictions do not allow the live event to take place, we will provide all participants with a free transition to a virtual marathon via the Virtual Running Club.
Rimi Riga Marathon organizational rules - the start and finish, epidemiological safety rules, vaccination and/or Covid-19 test requirements - will be announced as we approach the event, informing the participants via the event website, regulations and e-mail specified in the registration form.
Start number pickup
In 2022, we plan that the participants will be able to receive the start numbers in person at the Rimi Riga Marathon EXPO.
In case the EXPO will not be able to take place due to epidemiological safety reasons, all participants will receive the start numbers free of charge by our official DPD courier to the selected Pickup point.
During registration please select this option if you will want to use the official bag check. Along with your race number, you will receive your official runner’s bag in which to keep your belongings. If you do not plan on using the bag check, we ask that you do not select this option to reduce the impact on the environment. The bag check service is free.
For safety reasons, the bag check location may be limited and not offered to all participants.
The following time limits apply for Rimi Riga Marathon 2022.
